What Is The Purpose of Twin Flames? And What Comes After?

Yesterday, I had a telepathic connection with my twin flame. He asked me to please let him go. His question got me by surprise as I’ve done so many things already to let him go. I’ve burned letters, done cord-cuttings, and energy releases. Also, I’ve asked the Universe to help me let him go, and what is the purpose of twin flames if it’s so painful?

I’ve meditated, done breathwork, sound healings, and even plant medicine to expel him out of me. And honestly, I truly don’t want to get back together with him at this point.

But his question was legit — I had never truly let him go. After all, I still had glimmers of hope to once reunite with him. I still thought that the Universe makes twin flames come back together at some point. I still dreamed about a distant future together, once we both healed.

‘Please release me’

His question hit me hard. Why does he want me to let him go? Doesn’t he long back to our divine love as well? Doesn’t he recognize that our love connection can never be experienced with anyone else?

Our telepathic conversation continued. He says he wants to be enlightened in this life, and he can’t reach that as long as he stays attached to anything ,  including me. He says he feels the energetic pull coming from me towards him, and he senses my inability to truly let him go. Again, he asks me to please release him so he can continue on his journey.

I think about this for a while. It makes sense. He is a devoted Buddhist, and Buddhism teaches you that all attachments are suffering. I ask him about his kids — isn’t he attached to them?

Telepathic conversation with my twin

He replies that he will raise his kids as long as they need him to be their father, and then let them roam free, and will detach from them. He truly believes that he can only reach enlightenment when he is completely detached from anything and everybody is also detached from him.

Buddhism never resonated with me exactly because of this.

I believe humans need attachment because that’s what makes us human. We are born into this world literally ATTACHED to our mother — it’s part of who we are. Why try going against that by completely detaching yourself from everything?

I understand there are unhealthy forms of attachment, but living completely detached is not the answer either, in my opinion.

True unconditional love

But I realize I have no choice but to completely let him go. This is the path he chooses to walk, and I cannot do anything about that. In this life, we are not meant to reunite anymore. It makes me incredibly sad knowing that the greatest act of my love is to honor his wish, while destroying mine.

I guess they call it unconditional love.

So I fully take in the sensation of his presence one last time around me, look him into his eyes, and nod to accept his query. I intuitively know this will break our energetic connection forever. I retreat silently with tears in my eyes, wishing him the best on his journey to enlightenment ,  even though I know he will never reach it without finding the balance in his feminine counterpart.

The Divine purpose of twin flames

You only have one true twin flame because they help you find yourself. A twin flame is the part of your soul that needs healing. It’s the shadow waiting to be brought into the light. It’s the mirror you never dared to face.

A twin flame completes you because together you are One. That’s why your twin is your ultimate mirror. The masculine and feminine cannot exist without each other. It’s an illusion to think we can reach enlightenment alone. It’s a construct of the ego.

Facing your shadow

Men and women cannot exist without each other — it’s that simple. Everything everybody does in this world is to find love. The divine love we can only find when we are in balance with our opposite counterparts.

The purpose of twin flames is to reunite yourself with your shadow and then release it. I had to completely release my twin flame, including my dream to once again reunite with him. His shadow was still part of me somehow, and we both couldn’t evolve further. It got me stuck in the illusion that only he can complete me because he is supposedly my twin.

There is something better after a twin flame

The truth is, he was my divine counterpart at that moment in my life. Let me repeat that:

At that moment in my life.

But I’m no longer that person anymore. I’m no longer hiding from my shadow, and I’m no longer craving for somebody to complete me. I am already complete because I healed that part of myself.

And a healed twin flame doesn’t need their twin anymore. They need a person who is as evolved as they are, and who also understands the importance of the conscious unity between men and women. My twin flame chooses to walk a different path alone, which means I am going to attract another Soul who matches my new vibrational frequency.

That Soul might be somebody else’s healed twin flame ,  also knowing that his twin was essential in that stage of his life. But also being aware that that version of him no longer exists. Which means his twin flame also no longer exists in his current life.

A new evolved twin flame term

My masculine Soul counterpart is not just one person in my entire life. It exists in many men (and even females) on this planet. Now that my feminine Soul has evolved, so has my masculine counterpart. This could, in theory, be my twin flame, or it could be a completely new person. And since I know my twin flame chooses to walk this earth alone in search of enlightenment, he cannot be my divine counterpart anymore.

I know a twin flame is supposed to be the highest form of love you will ever experience, but what if there is something better? After all, the term ‘twin flame’ is only a concept once mentioned by a human. A human who probably never evolved into the after-twin flame stage.

What comes after the twin flame journey?

So I asked the Universe the burning question:

Will this mean I can never experience this type of love anymore?

The answer came from within my Soul — of course you can still experience this love, and you know it! It’s possible in any of those magnetic connections you sometimes witnessed. It’s possible in any recognition you sometimes have when you meet somebody new. It is possible in any of those energetic pulls you can’t explain but feel when you enter a certain place.

Those people weren’t the right people for you at that moment, because you still had to go through your twin flame experience. But those encounters are no coincidences. They show you that you can find divine love all around you — you just have to be at the right time at the right place. And at the right stage of your healing journey.

The conscious Soul connection

So yes, you only have one real twin flame, and that’s a good thing. Because what comes next is beyond the push/pull and bone-deep pain you experienced with your twin. It’s a conscious Soul connection that nourishes your whole being. It is your new divine counterpart that matches the new you.

It’s the ultimate balance between masculine and feminine, and you are both an equal part of it. Masculine and feminine balance go beyond gender, so two males or two females together can also embody this divine connection.

So let’s bring a new term for the evolved twin flame into the world. Let’s call them…

SOUL PARTNER

What is a Soul Partner?

Your Soul Partner is a healed Soul who perfectly matches you in your opposite main energy field. They are equal to you because they have also worked through their traumas and triggers and are also ready for a conscious relationship. This connection is better than a twin flame because you are both evolved Souls ,  not acting from your past anymore.

It will still feel divine and magnetic because together you create the ultimate balance that will last forever. The Universe gave you a twin flame to believe in this type of love, and it will give you a Soul Partner to show you that love can last in a healthy way.

You just have to completely release your twin flame first with an act of love.
